The Ian’s Automotive Story

A story that began in 1986 has evolved into another South Shore success. One that has seen a small detailing business grow into a professional Shine Factory, quality used vehicle sales centre, and now a full TECH-NET automotive service shop.

Owner/operator Ian Tufts lives by the motto that Henry Ford is famous for, “There is no substitute for hard work.” He and his wife Daphney and their dedicated team of employees continue to work hard every day to build long lasting relationships based on trust. Ian’s Shine Factory, Ian’s Automotive and the TECH-NET service bays will continue to provide the quality products that customers have come to depend on.

Ian feels fortunate to be surrounded by car enthusiasts. “I have managed to find people that love cars as much as I do,” says Ian. Customers all over the South Shore and beyond have been ‘Ianized’. It’s not as scary as it sounds. In the car industry Ian’s name is synonymous with pride and trust and for over 10 years Ian’s quality used cars have been quickly leaving the lot. “I am very selective about what I bring back to the shop. I want quality vehicles for my clients and I take the time to scour places to find them,” explains Ian. 

So the natural progression of things lead Ian to “We should service what we sell!” and the TECH-NET service centre was born. It took two years of careful planning but late in the fall of 2008 they were open for business. “With the addition of the new service centre we can make our used cars the very best they can be and deal with any issues that may come up after the sale immediately. We also give our customers the choice of dealing with an independent company that has no loyalties to makes and brands, our only loyalty is to the customer,” says Ian.
